NEWS FROM POWER TO DECIDE
Celebrating Women’s History and Achievements
We brought together six young women to discuss the female role models in their lives, where they see the future of women’s health going, and how being a woman has influenced their decision to study and work in the world of sexual and reproductive health. Watch the video on YouTube and read excerpts from this moving discussion on our blog.
To further honor Women’s History Month, our CEO, Dr. Raegan McDonald-Mosley gave a two-part interview in which she discussed her mentors as well as how personal experiences have shaped her work.
“My experiences navigating the world as a woman, and as a Black woman specifically, have completely informed the way I work. I carry these experiences with me and apply them to all that I do… My awareness of society’s propensity to control and vilify the reproductive decisions of women of color and women who navigate the world with low incomes informs my interpersonal interaction with my patients. I strive to provide compassionate, non-judgmental care and to ensure that people feel empowered and cared for in all their health care decisions.”
Keep the Power On. Continue the Conversation.
Get ready because in May we celebrate Talking is Power month, a national effort to spark meaningful conversations between young people and the champions in their lives. Every year, we create conversation tips and question prompts for teens and their parents and champions. We also share personal stories and discussion guides to help ease the way. We encourage productive, non-judgmental conversations about sex, love, relationships, and ultimately contraception. Learn more about the #TalkingIsPower movement.
Breaking Down Data on Telehealth
Telehealth has become a convenient way to access contraception while staying safely at home during the COVID-29 pandemic. But how do health care providers feel about the changes brought about by the pandemic? And what do they think about telehealth? In this blog, data from a Power to Decide surveys and a recent Kaiser Family Foundation survey is analyzed to better understand the answers to these questions.

Share ‘Teen Talk’ With the Young People in Your Life
Our goal is to present the facts only; we are unbiased and open to a lot of viewpoints. We believe it's important to give young people information on sex, love, and relationships so that they can make informed decisions and live their best life. We share all that information on ‘Teen Talk,’ a section of our website that is by teens and for teens.
Recent blogs include pieces on how TikTok educates teens about sexual health, why it’s so important to talk to your partner about STI testing and condoms, and one young person’s journey to loving their body at every size.
