John,
When American tax dollars pay for medical advancements, why should Americans pay the highest prices in the world for them? The answer lies in patents―and on its way out the door, the Trump administration gave Big Pharma a gift that would make this a whole lot worse.
After losing the election, Trump introduced a regulation that would undo a law that protects the American people from Big Pharma price gouging. If the Biden administration doesn’t stop it, the National Institute of Standards and Technology will eliminate the government’s ability to step in when a corporation charges an unreasonable price for a taxpayer-funded invention, such as a vaccine or prescription drug. This policy, called “march-in rights,” exerts some downward pressure on drug prices. But Big Pharma won’t be satisfied until they can march-in to your wallet!
We have until April 5th to fight back against this Trump-era regulation that would put Big Pharma’s profits ahead of our rights―leaving pharmaceutical corporations to price gouge the American people on taxpayer-funded medicines.

The pharmaceutical industry has been pushing hard to rubber stamp this dangerous proposal, which would result in patients paying twice for publicly-funded drugs―as taxpayers and as consumers.
And, while this corporate-friendly, anti-consumer regulation was introduced during the Trump era, if adopted, it would be implemented under the Biden administration, putting President Biden on the hook for the erosion of critical consumer safeguards.
Click here to send an official comment directly to the National Institute of Standards and Technology and tell the federal government to reject this massive Big Pharma handout.
It’s up to us to undo the damage done by the Trump administration and demand that our government put people, not greedy corporations, first.
Thank you,
