Two weeks ago, our country saw back to back mass shootings. One, a hate crime against the AAPI community in Atlanta that was dismissed as a “bad day” for the shooter. The other, a ruthless attack on patrons at a grocery store in Boulder, CO.
Our country is hurting, and our communities are afraid, yet the best Republicans in Congress can offer is thoughts and prayers. Democrats have proposed solution after solution, but Republicans are too beholden to the gun lobby to put their constituents first.
If they won't act to protect our communities, it's time we replace them with lawmakers who will. John, in 2020 you helped elect Joe Biden as President, and flip the Senate blue. Now, 2022 is going to be a make or break year of critical reforms — we can either grow our majority and pass meaningful progressive change, or lose seats to the Republicans who are already gearing up.
