We'll be blunt, John. The surge in GOP-sponsored voting bills isn't just about voter suppression. They're also trying to give themselves the power to steal elections outright.

Take the legislation recently signed by Georgia's Republican governor, Brian Kemp. Among other provisions, it allows the (gerrymandered) state legislature to appoint a majority of the members of the State Board of Elections and authorizes that board to suspend local election officials. It also removes the secretary of state from serving as chair of the Board of Elections.

According to The Washington Post:

But it's not just Georgia, John -- in Arizona, a Republican lawmaker introduced a bill that would give the state legislature the power to toss out election results altogether.

It's part of a distinct pattern of state-level Republicans attempting to take control from local officials and the people across the country. We're working to stop them, but we need your grassroots support. Will you pitch in?
