Happy Resurrection Sunday! Today is the day we remember and celebrate the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ, through which we are redeemed and restored.

Every year, Prison Fellowship^® shares this hope with incarcerated men and women through special Easter Hope Events. These events feature a variety of inspirational speakers and musicians and offer prisoners a brief respite from the challenges of prison life.

Last year, we held our first virtual Hope Event in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. This year, through socially distanced in-person and virtual events around the country, men and women will have the opportunity to choose faith in our risen Savior. Men and women like Raul and Lazaro.

When Raul Escariz arrived at Okeechobee Correctional Institution in Florida in 2001, he wasn’t looking for friends. He was there to serve an eight-year sentence for insurance fraud and theft. It was hard to imagine any purpose in a life behind bars than to just do his time and get home.

But then Raul met Lazaro Lopez, a man serving time for kidnapping, armed robbery, and assault. Raul was immediately struck by Lazaro’s humility and love.

Take the message of salvation through prison bars and into open hearts. Through Hope Events, socially distanced in-person or virtual, men and women have the opportunity to choose faith in our risen Savior.
