With billions of advertising dollars at stake, medical journals are more than willing play a key role in suppressing studies that raise critical questions about vaccine risks—which would endanger profits. In fact, the FDA has flagged numerous instances of advertising violations, including ads that overstated a drug’s effectiveness or minimized its risks.
This "pick and choose" publication method can play out in many different ways: through biased study designs and analytic strategies, misleading presentation of data, or simply not reporting clinical trial results at all—particularly when their results are negative.
Regardless of the method, the concerted campaign to prevent dissemination of information makes it harder than ever for families to do make decisions with regard to vaccine risks and benefits.
