We couldn’t be more excited about Melanie’s nomination. She’s proven herself to be a fearless fighter for New Mexico’s working families, a champion for change, and an advocate for our environment.
In the state legislature, Melanie has focused on ending childhood hunger, improving education, modernizing our electric grid, expanding economic opportunity, protecting public safety, and ensuring equal access to healthcare. We know she’ll fight for these issues and more in Congress.
As many of you know, Martin was the very first Democrat to represent this historically red district. And while we’ve made a lot of progress since then, this seat is far from guaranteed — with pundits predicting Republicans will take back the House next year, it’s on us to make sure this seat stays blue.
