The science and data are clear, let’s look at the facts:
FACT: The assault weapon ban from 1994-2004 resulted in a nearly 7% decrease in total gun murders.
FACT: Assault weapons are disproportionately used for mass shootings -- High capacity magazines, reloading rates, and fire speed results in multiple victims with multiple wounds on a second-by-second basis.
FACT: During the ten-year ban the use of assault weapons in criminal offenses declined by nearly 70% (!)
FACT: The Second Amendment does not say that every American has an inalienable right to a forward-grip, combat-zone augmented automatic single-click assault rifle with hell-fire triggers, rapid replacement bullet buttons, and armor piercing hollow bullet tips.
Weapons of war are designed for war and should not be accessible to everyday citizens especially with our broken background check system full of loopholes and grandfather clauses.
