Your campaign brief for April 3, 2021

John-

Dan Crenshaw here.

This weekend, as we celebrate Easter and the resurrection of Christ, let us not only reflect on the loved ones, family, and friends who we’ve lost in the past year, but let us rejoice in knowing that through God-given strength, our country is nearing the end of this pandemic.

HE IS RISEN
EASTER 2021

"Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead."

1 Peter 1:3
REMEMBER: LIVE WITH STRENGTH AND FORTITUDE

[link removed]
Last year, I shared the above video on Easter weekend, calling on Americans to adopt a new American ethos during these difficult times. We were at the beginning of this pandemic, unable to spend this weekend of celebration and rejoicing with our family and loved ones.

I am again calling on Americans to live out that ethos of strength and fortitude.

We are nearing the end of this pandemic every day. American innovators developed a vaccine in record time with the unprecedented help of Operation Warp Speed. Many states (though not as many as I would like) are fully reopening, allowing their businesses and citizens to earn a living and live their lives as free Americans.

Easter is a time to celebrate renewal and the resurrection of Jesus, and with strength provided by God, we are defeating this virus and should also celebrate the renewal of America. We have a responsibility to make our country stronger and more resilient than ever before, and that responsibility starts with every one of us.

“..We rejoice in our sufferings, knowing that suffering produces endurance, and endurance produces character, and character produces hope, and hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured into our hearts through the Holy Spirit who has been given to us.”

GOOD NEWS ON VACCINE AVAILABILITY IN TEXAS

There is excellent news on the vaccine front in Texas: starting this week, all Texans who are 16 years old and over can get a vaccine.

I was proud to vote for legislation in Congress last year that encouraged partnership between the government and private sector to develop a vaccine in record time and also require insurance to cover it, and additional legislation that allocated significant resources to vaccine distribution.

Now, I’m sponsoring legislation to ensure Texas is getting its fair share of the COVID vaccine. I’m also calling on the Biden Administration to publish the formula used to allocate vaccines to the states after reports surfaced that we weren’t getting our fair share of the vaccine.

The sooner we get vaccinated, the sooner we get back to normal. Here are some resources to help you do that:

Use this map ([link removed]) to find vaccine availability across Texas
Click here ([link removed]) to find a vaccine provider near you and schedule an appointment
Sign up here ([link removed]) for vaccine availability alerts
For veterans, the VA has tools ([link removed]) specifically for you to get vaccinated

Please pass this information along to your family, friends, and loved ones. We’re closer each day to the end of this pandemic, and the vaccine is our best weapon against it.
