If I haven't had a chance to properly introduce myself to you yet, I'm Liz, the new Chair of the Ohio Democratic Party.
I wanted to take a moment to say thank you. We had a steep goal we needed to hit before this year's first end-of-quarter fundraising deadline. Thanks to a surge in support over the last few days, we hit our goal. Thank you.
Listen, after being unable to flip Ohio for Joe Biden in 2020, a lot of people have written off the possibility of seeing a blue Ohio ever again. But I'm here to tell you that couldn't be further from the truth.
As the new Chair of the Ohio Democratic Party, I don't take my position lightly. I have a plan and I'm ready to lead the party forward in laying the groundwork for Democrats at every level and in every part of the state to succeed.
If we commit to putting in the work right now, we'll be able to build the infrastructure needed to win Ohio's open Senate race, take back the governor's office, and elect Democrats at every level in every county. The truth is a blue Ohio is not only possible, it's within our reach.
We saw what happened in places like Georgia, Wisconsin, and Michigan when voters banded together and said, "Enough!" to the Republican Party's failed leadership. So here's what I know for sure: as long as you're on this team, we can flip Ohio blue in 2022 and beyond.
Our work is only beginning, and I'm excited to see what our future holds.
