People For Member,

More than 80 bills pushing discrimination against transgender people have
been filed in 2021 alone. And in much of the United States, LGBTQ+ people
still aren’t explicitly protected from discrimination.

We can’t let anti-LGBTQ+ lawmakers – or anyone – get away with any kind of
discrimination.

must pass the Equality Act to protect LGBTQ+ people from
discrimination! >>

If all of these discriminatory, anti-transgender bills were to be passed,
it would be a catastrophe in the making for LGBTQ+ people everywhere. The
best way to prevent these laws from being enacted at all would be for the
Senate to pass the Equality Act – and to do so swiftly.

President Biden signed an executive order to combat discrimination based
on gender identity and sexual orientation on his first day in office, and
although that was important, it was only a first step, and it still
wouldn’t prevent these state laws from going into effect.

LGBTQ+ people are at risk every day that the Equality Act’s passage is
further delayed. We need the Senate to act now.

The opponents of equality are relentless – and that’s why we need to keep
up the drumbeat of our support until we cross the finish line and ensure
that everyone is protected, including LGBTQ+ people based on their gender
identity or sexual orientation.
