First, I want to say thank you. We blew past our end-of-quarter goal last night because of the thousands of people who chipped in $5 or $10 at a time. For a campaign that doesn’t take corporate PAC money, it’s something we are exceptionally proud of — and you should be too.

Friend, normally I would leave it at that. My team has sent a lot of emails over the past week. But we are living in extraordinary times — and news just broke that has implications for Georgia and our entire country that you have to hear now.

A federal judge just blocked Georgia House Bill 481, the abortion ban that threatens women and their doctors with criminal prosecution for having an abortion after just six weeks of pregnancy — before most women even know they’re pregnant. The most important point: Abortion will remain legal and accessible in Georgia.

This ruling was the correct one, but the war on women’s reproductive rights isn’t over. My opponent David Perdue has legislation in the United States Senate right now that would criminalize abortion, effectively undoing Roe v. Wade . This is despite the fact that most Georgians believe in access to safe, legal abortions.

Georgia has a maternal mortality crisis on its hands. Much of our $9.5 billion film industry is boycotting our state because of HB 481. As your senator, I will introduce legislation rolling back the abortion restrictions that have gone into effect across our country and ONLY confirm federal judges who abide by Roe’s precedent.

Mitch McConnell’s dark money groups have already come after me, and I don’t take corporate PAC money to fight back. Instead, I have you.
