My commitment to Oklahomans has always been to bring a fresh approach to state government and reimagine how we deliver services to improve outcomes for Oklahomans. At the top of this list has been how to invest in our children to ensure the success of our state moving forward.

I’m proud to say that yesterday we implemented one of the most transformative education reforms Oklahoma has ever seen.

We delivered for Oklahoma’s children by:

✔️ Modernizing the funding formula to ensure funding follows our children, not the school

Oklahoma’s students are no longer restricted by district lines or their zip code. We’re making sure that our children and their families' tax dollars follow them to any public school they choose— we’re truly putting education back into the hands of Oklahomans.

These reforms are a capstone on the incredible progress we have made in education since coming into office. In my first year, we brought the State’s budgeted investment in public education to the highest level in Oklahoma’s history and delivered a second pay raise to teachers.

John, I set the vision for Oklahoma to be a Top Ten state, and we will not stop working until we bring Oklahoma out of it’s stagnant rankings and into Top Ten status… in every critical category!
