Note from Chairman Stepanek Friend,
Thank you to all who supported our Virtual Fundraiser with the Honorable Mike Pompeo this past week. Through your support, we were able to reach our goal, and were able to raise over six thousand dollars! This funding will be of incredible help to ensure the election of Bill Boyd in his upcoming special election in Merrimack.
On that note, I would like to extend an invitation for an upcoming event supporting Bill Boyd on Monday, April 5th. The New Hampshire GOP is hosting a free Facebook live event with special guests Matt Mowers, Senator Tom Cotton, and Senator Kelly Ayotte. We look forward to supporting Bill and uplifting conservative voices across the state of New Hampshire. Hope you can tune in on our Facebook page Monday night!
Lastly, I urge everyone to continue raising awareness to the Democrat pushed S.1 bill (H.R.1) and the imminent danger it imposes on the Granite State. This bill looks to take away our ‘First in the Nation’ primary status, a political tradition that has been a cherished part of New Hampshire history for over a century. Our Secretary of State Bill Gardner, a Democrat who has served our state dutifully for 23 terms, has confirmed this to be a fact. It’s very clear that this legislation is a threat to ALL New Hampshire residents, and by no means a partisan issue. The bottom line is that while Democrat officials in DC are attempting to mask this bill as a positive move for voter expansion, they’re chipping away at the base of our Granite State’s election system.
In response, we’ve launched a new petition to Defend our First-in-the-Nation Primary, and I ask you to sign and share the petition with your networks. We need our Federal delegates to know how deeply we oppose this bill, and that we refuse to allow D.C legislators to take control over New Hampshire’s governing abilities and traditions. Please be sure to reach out to Senator Shaheen, and Senator Hassan to relay your concerns.
As a reminder, please encourage folks to subscribe to our newsletter, and if there’s anything you would like us to highlight, please reach out to [email protected]!
Sincerely, Stephen Stepanek NHGOP Chairman
Weekly Governor's Glance:
Senate Update from Senate President Morse Vaccine Passports Have no Home in New Hampshire
This week, New Hampshire opened up COVID vaccine availability to everyone resident age 16 and up, well ahead of our neighboring states. But the Biden Administration is considering the creation of COVID-19 "vaccine passports". Many Granite Staters have since reached out to me understandably disturbed by these reports.
I want to make it clear that I will not support the creation of any "vaccine passport" in New Hampshire that would limit the ability of New Hampshire residents to travel, work or enter businesses based on vaccination status.
This type of restriction can only further harm the already ailing small businesses here in New Hampshire. We have worked tirelessly in the New Hampshire legislature this year to remove the onerous regulations and other barriers to full economic recovery and creating new restrictions that would limit the ability of potential customers to enter a business, or tourists to travel to our state, is not the way to rebound.

Republican Spotlight: Meet Joseph Gagnon This week’s Republican spotlight is focused on Joseph Gagnon, who was recently elected to the Budget Committee of Londonderry NH. He started his official political career in June of 2020 by volunteering for the local Londonderry Republican committee, but has held a passion for New Hampshire politics from a young age. In highschool, Joe was an active member of his student council, and attended an annual state-wide leadership conference for students. In July of 2020 he worked for the Matt Mowers Congressional Campaign before becoming a field organizer for the Trump Victory team.
After November 3rd he helped recruit volunteer lawyers for the Trump Campaign in Philadelphia before traveling to Georgia as a field organizer for the RNC special elections. He has since returned home to Londonderry where he was elected Secretary of the Londonderry Republican Committee and is currently a member of the Republican State Committee.
Thank you so much Joseph Gagnon for the work you have done for our Republican party. You are a rising star in New Hampshire Politics, and we are very excited to see what the future holds. We cannot wait to see what your achievements will be, and what your strong leadership will bring in the future.
NH Republican House Update: House Republicans Praise Right-to-Work Legislation
Concord, NH – House Majority Leader Jason Osborne (R-Auburn) and House Labor, Industrial and Rehabilitative Services Chairman Will Infantine (R-Manchester) released the following statements following the hearing on SB61, prohibiting collective bargaining agreements that require employees to join a labor union:
Majority Leader Osborne: “This is about giving Granite Staters the freedom they deserve in addition to the clear economic benefits of passing this bill. Workers should not be coerced into paying union dues just to hold a job. Three years ago the Supreme Court decided that public sector employees cannot be forced to pay union dues as part of their employment and workers in private industry should be afforded the same opportunity. Despite what the opponents of this bill say, it does nothing to affect an individual’s ability to join or form a union, it simply allows them to make a decision on whether or not membership is worth their hard earned money.”
Chairman Will Infantine: “New Hampshire has a golden opportunity to jump-start its economic growth by becoming New England’s only Right-to-Work state. If the 27 Right-to-Work states nationwide have proven anything it’s that passing this legislation will result in more jobs, better wages, and more freedom for New Hampshire’s workforce.”
NHFRW is founding a new 'Lakes Region' Club!
The New Hampshire Federation of Republican Women is so excited to announce that we are starting another club! This will be our second new club this year. Support for our current clubs along with new club development is crucial to being organized for our 2022 get-out-the-vote efforts!
The Lakes Region FRW is having their organizational meeting on April 20 at 7pm to elect their Executive Officers and approve their Bylaws. They need 10 female members to join for $35 as founding members to start their club! The Lakes Region FRW will aim to represent women in any town in the "lakes region" of NH and will be based in Belknap County.
