Rep. Kweisi Mfume of Maryland is the newest cosponsor of Medicare for All.

National Nurses United

It's working.

We just got word that Medicare for All activists in Maryland successfully pressured their representative, Rep. Kweisi Mfume (MD-07), to co-sponsor Medicare for All!

After more than a year of emails, calls, actions, and meetings led by the Maryland Progressive Healthcare Coalition, Rep. Mfume has agreed to sign on to the bill – crossing one more rep off of our target cosponsor list.

It’s through this type of deep organizing that we’ve been able to win nearly every new cosponsor thus far. It was not easy getting Rep. Mfume to do the right thing, but the volunteers and organizers on the ground didn’t give up.

This victory shows that through consistent and strategic organizing in our districts, we can pressure our representatives to support HR 1976 and bring about transformational health care reform. But it will take an enormous amount of people power.

We need to put more national pressure on Congress to act. So far, over 100,000 people have signed our petition to Congress urging them to pass Medicare for All, but your name is missing.

We need more signatures to show the broad base of support for Medicare for All across the country. Will you add your name calling on Congress to support Medicare for All?

After you sign, we’ll be delivering your signatures to Congress, and share more ways you can take action whether you live in a target district or not.

Every signature on this petition helps build national pressure and helps to support the many campaigns happening in districts across the country.

Please add your name now, and we’ll keep you posted on more ways you can help build pressure for Medicare for All in our target districts.
