Ready to get out and celebrate this spring? This year?s Wine on the Fox presented by john greene Realtor, offers the opportunity to grab a spot in the grass, uncork a bottle to share with family members and close friends, and enjoy a relaxing afternoon of live music in the park.
Wine on the Fox will be held 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. Saturday, May 1, and 12 to 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 2, at Hudson Crossing Park, with a new format to keep wine lovers enjoying a beloved Oswego tradition from a safe social distance.
Tickets go on sale 9 a.m. on Monday, April 5, at www.wineonthefox.com. Every spring, Wine on the Fox offers an opportunity for friends and neighbors to come together to toast to the arrival of spring in a fun, relaxed atmosphere on the banks of the Fox River, all benefitting the Oswego community.
What?s different this year
This year?s event promises to bring all the fun and chill atmosphere you?ve come to expect from Wine on the Fox with new guidelines to keep attendees and the wider community healthy.
Tickets will be sold in group minimums of four tickets, with the option to add up to two more. When you arrive, your group will have its pick of a designated space on the grass in Hudson Crossing Park to enjoy sipping new wines and listening to live music at a safe distance from other groups. Tickets will reserve your space for a four-hour timeslot beginning at either 11 a.m. or 4 p.m. or noon on Sunday and come with an entry wristband, bottle of wine, wine bucket, commemorative glass and wine key for each attendee.
?You can think of it a little like reserving a table at a spring gala,? Community Engagement Coordinator Julie Hoffman said. ?Invite family, the people who have been a part of your social pod all year, or that couple you haven?t seen in months to unwind and catch up out in the fresh air in a not-too-crowded setting.?
In addition to the choice of bottle included with your tickets, attendees will also be able to purchase bottles and 5-ounce servings from Illinois wineries at the event. Single-ounce servings, available previous years, will not be available this year as a health and safety precaution. Payment will be accepted in the form of credit card purchase only. Paper tickets will not be issued and cash will not be accepted.
Designated circles will be distanced six feet apart from other groups, face masks will be required when outside of your group?s circle, and hand sanitizer will be made available to guests. Ticket sales for the event are limited to park capacities in line with State of Illinois DCEO guidelines in place at the time of the event.
This year, entry is only open to patrons 21 and older with a valid photo ID.
What?s the same
As always, Wine on the Fox gives you the opportunity to discover wines from Illinois wineries, including Oswego?s own Fox Valley Winery. Enjoy live entertainment from fan favorites like Wild Daisy and Junkyard Groove. Dig into the festival food you?ve been missing for the past year. And if wine?s not your thing, raise a glass from Oswego Brewing Company, which will be on hand pouring craft brews made right here in Oswego.
Come hungry! Local food vendors will feature a variety of food and non-alcoholic beverages to consume back in your designated circle. Outside food and bottled water, but no other beverages, are permitted.
The Mother?s Day Boutique will once again return this year! Downtown businesses will feature the best gifts for mom from Main Street shops right in the park. Shop local for all your Mother?s Day gift-giving needs.
