John,

Every year we continue to see more and more evidence that climate change
is accelerating.

From raging wildfires to devastating floods, to increasingly powerful
hurricanes and record-breaking heatwaves, there is no shortage of extreme
weather events that show just how dangerous the climate catastrophe is.

So that is why we are glad to see that President Biden has recently made
steps in the right direction by introducing a plan to expand our use of
offshore wind turbines on the east coast.

Make no mistake about it; this was made possible because of you. DFA
members have worked tirelessly to ensure that President Biden seriously
addressed the climate catastrophe. Your voice brought attention to one of
the most important issues of our lifetimes.

But we can’t let up now. Progress will only happen if we keep the pressure
on our leaders to treat climate change like the emergency it is with
solutions big enough to match the scale of the problem.

President Biden’s recent plan to address the climate crisis is a
much-needed step in the right direction, but we must make even more bold
and ambitious steps that will keep our planet habitable for future
generations.

his clean energy wind plan and want him to go further by including plans
to expand offshore wind farms on the west coast and in the Gulf of Mexico.

DFA has proudly called on Congress to declare a climate emergency and
propose bold policies like the Green New Deal because we know that there
is no time to think small when it comes to climate change.

Right now, the United States only has two small offshore wind farms
operating near Rhode Island and Virginia, not nearly enough if we are
going to seriously move away from fossil fuels and towards renewable
energy.

President Biden’s current plan would power an additional 10 million homes
while eliminating 78 million metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions.

President Biden’s plan is a good start, but we must continue to push for
bigger solutions that will keep our planet habitable for future
generations.

John, it will take a mass movement of Americans taking on the
fossil fuel industry to create the change we need, show that you are in
that fight by [ [link removed] ]signing our petition telling President Biden that you
support his climate plan and want to see him go further.

Let’s do everything in our power to save current and future generations
from climate catastrophe.

Thank you for working to make the better world that we all know is
possible.
