Investing in NEPA's Infrastructure

Dear John,

I have been calling for an infrastructure bill since I first got to Congress more than eight years ago, and President Biden’s American Jobs Plan is a framework for investing in all of America’s infrastructure in every part of the nation.

The American Jobs Plan:

Creates millions of good-paying union jobs
Upgrades our roads and transit systems
Delivers high-speed broadband to rural communities
Revitalizes U.S. manufacturing
Invests in reclaiming abandoned mine lands

These are long overdue investments.

I’m looking forward to working with my colleagues in the House to turn the American Jobs Plan into law.

Another $1.8 Million in Federal Funding is on its way to NEPA

On Wednesday, I announced that $1.8 million in federal funding is on its way to Maternal and Family Health Services, Inc. I am grateful for their continued work to provide affordable health care to Northeastern Pennsylvanians.

Stimulus Checks are Still on the Way

Stimulus checks are still on their way to millions of Americans. We encourage you to remain patient if you haven't received your check yet. Here are a few resources that can provide assistance:

Confirm you are eligible to receive the stimulus check here.
If you haven't received your first or second round payment, you can claim it via a Recovery Rebate Credit on your 2020 taxes. Call 211 or your local United Way to talk to a tax professional for free or at low-cost.
Visit the IRS's FAQ page for more information on the third payment.

In addition, the IRS announced on Tuesday, March 30 that Social Security recipients can expect to receive their stimulus check payments beginning April 7. Read their message here.

Still Time to Say 'Thank You' to the Guard

I am so grateful to all the Northeastern Pennsylvanians who have joined me in writing thank you notes to our local National Guard troops.

There is still time to write-in! Please send thank you notes to my Scranton District Office (226 Wyoming Avenue, Scranton PA, 18503) or call Colleen at 570-341-1050 (ext: 7) to arrange a drop-off before April 8.

Vaccine Eligibility will move to phase 1B on April 5; All adults will be eligible on April 19

Pennsylvania will move to phase 1B on April 5, expanding eligibility to other frontline workers. All Pennsylvanians will be eligible to be vaccinated by April 19.
