For more than a year now essential workers have been on the frontline of the pandemic working to keep our city running despite the constant risk of COVID-19 infection and death. Many essential workers have suffered through the pandemic without adequate sick leave, hazard pay or other key protections and rights. That is why we are calling on Mayor Bowser to enact the DC Essential Workers Bill Of Rights! The Essential Worker Bill of Rights would guarantee that ALL essential workers would be provided with:

2 weeks of sick leave
Hazard pay of $3 per hour
5 days of paid bereavement leave
Expanded access to workers compensation for COVID-19 related health issues
A right to high quality employer provided PPE
