Students need to eat breakfast plain and simple.
No Kid Hungry
Dear Friend,
Students need to eat breakfast. Plain and simple.
A few years ago, when I was Principal at Daisy Bates Elementary School in Arkansas, I saw students starting their school day without eating breakfast - some who hadn't eaten since they were in school the day before.
When kids are hungry, they have a hard time doing the easiest things - like getting from the bus to class or behaving in the hallways.
You can help connect students to the healthy school breakfasts they need to succeed. Contact your governor and tell him/her that hungry kids must get the food they need.

I noticed a change at Daisy Bates Elementary right away when we started serving breakfast in the classroom.
Not only were we able to help kids that were obviously suffering from lack of food, but once we introduced breakfast, referrals to my office for behavior problems went down by two-thirds. And math scores went up by 18%!
No Kid Hungry has a goal of connecting 1 million more eligible kids with school breakfast in the next two years.
Lawmakers can come together to help feed hungry kids. But people like you must tell them it's important. Please take action now.

Thank you for all that you do.
Sincerely,
Principal Matt Mellor
