We are excited to share that we have a new campaign with a new experiment coming soon: Join us in sending letters to Democratic-leaning voters in Texas’ 6th Congressional District (TX-06) to fill a U.S. House of Representatives vacancy.

TX-06 is a Republican-leaning district—the vacant seat was most recently held by a Republican—but in recent elections, the margins of victory have narrowed, resulting in closer races. In this experiment, we’re testing a tactic known as “vote tripling,” where we ask letter recipients not only to vote themselves, but also to mobilize their friends and family to vote.

Through this Vote Forward Labs experiment, we’re hoping to learn if we can amplify the effects of our letters by asking Democratic-leaning voters to encourage their friends to vote, further narrowing (and possibly flipping) the margin between Democratic and Republican votes.

Vote tripling showed promising results in the 2020 elections, and we saw many Vote Forward volunteers try it out in their letters last year, so we’re excited to conduct a larger experiment with this campaign.

Elections will be happening all over the state, including ballot initiatives, on May 18, and we will likely be encouraging people to vote by mail (VBM) given the success of our prior VBM initiatives.
