Dear John,
ARC's Ride Home Program is now featured on Worn Stories, a new Netflix documentary series about clothes and the people who wear them. The series begins streaming today, April 1. The episode ARC's Ride Home Program is featured in is "Beginnings" and is Episode 3.
The show is based on the New York Times bestselling book by Emily Spivack.
Included in the show is a ride Carlos Cervantes, our amazing Ride Home Program Manager, did picking up our community member Rudy T. after 40+ years incarcerated. Additionally, we hear part of Carlos's own story coming home and why this work to welcome people home is so crucial. Hear Rudy's beautiful words in the above trailer (1:00). We want to lift up Carlos and all the ARC members/staff past and present who have given rides home to our community members coming home from incarceration. Shoutout to The Three Strikes Project and Stanford Law for their work in ushering this program into existence and their continued partnership. Thank you to all our community partners and nonprofits in the field picking up our community members with dignity, especially ThePlace4Grace, Ahimsa Collective, ReEvolution, Choices for Freedom, All of Us or None - Bakersfield, among others. It is core to our mission to welcome our people home with humanity and care.
