Dear John, Despite the growing number of violent tragedies, including all of the recent mass shootings, the ever-heartless, greed-driven NRA continues to declare that no gun reform legislation is needed. Despite initial support for more commonsense gun laws, several GOP legislators are now echoing them. They are distracting us from the real problem by blaming and further stigmatizing people with mental illnesses, despite research showing that access to guns, not mental illness, predicts interpersonal gun violence. [1] Our legislators do not represent the NRA and the gun lobby--they represent us. And they need to remember that; they need to see us and hear us, because our families and our communities deserve their undivided attention. Please sign up now to be seen and heard at WAVE's Day of Action at the State Capitol. If you've had enough with the excuses, empty tweets, and feigned shock coming from some Madison legislators, you need to be there on October 24, as we join together to resist the gun lobby's hold on our elected officials. >>Click here to RSVP. We outnumber the gun lobby extremists. Let's prove it on October 24th! Jeri P.S. Even if you can’t join us in Madison on our Day of Action, you can still show your support: >>Click here to make a donation to help underwrite this important day.
