You’ll find updates on how the Senator’s field team is building the largest grassroots team in the state, and how others like you have already gotten involved. We are bringing you everything you need to know about 2020, the biggest test Texas Republicans have ever faced!
Want to get involved yourself? Reach out to your local Regional Director listed at the bottom of the page. We need you to sign up for a block walk, phone bank or a Cornyn Academy today to support Senator Cornyn and the entire Republican ballot. Make it a party and invite your friends to join you! The Senator at Work Photo: Sen. John Cornyn receiving the CRES 2019 Clean Energy Champion Senator award on Wednesday in D.C. (PC: @JohnCornyn) This week the Senator travelled around Texas before heading back to D.C. He was in Houston on Sunday to welcome the Prime Minister of India, Narendi Modi, at Howdy Modi. The event was attended by 50,000 people, and was opened by President Donald Trump! PM Modi even took some time to wish Sandy Cornyn a happy birthday.
After a busy weekend traveling around Texas, it was back to D.C. for the Senator. Senator Cornyn along with Senator Rick Scott, Senator Marco Rubio, Senator John Kennedy, and Senator Ted Cruz reintroduced the Disaster Assistance Simplification Act. This will prohibit victims of natural disasters from being penalized by the Department of Housing and Urban Development for applying for, but declining, Small Business Administration loans. Houston Area Photo: Regional Director William Little removing debris from neighbor’s roof. (PC: @wdlittle3) Our prayers are with the Houston area this week as they continue to recover from Tropical Depression Imelda. We are encouraged by the incredible outpouring of support we have seen of neighbors helping neighbors. This sense of community and charity was shared by our staff and volunteers in the area, as they took some time to help the cleanup efforts.
If you are able to help in the cleanup efforts, please reach out to our Regional Director for Harris County, William Little, to get plugged in. His email is [email protected]. Central Texas Photo: Grassroots activists being trained on Advantage in Central Texas. (PC: @AlexFulton93) Things are heating up in Central Texas as our team there is working hard to win back Republican seats around central Texas. This week our team spent time strategizing with our local partners on how to win Williamson county in 2020.
Many of the Texans in Williamson county that our team speaks to have never been contacted by a major statewide campaign. Texans for Senator John Cornyn wants to change that. We are committed to contacting voters in every corner of the state to address their concerns and make sure they get the personal contact they deserve. To do this, we need your help on the ground. To find out the best way to volunteer today reach out to Mack Fulton to get plugged into trainings, block walks and phone banks at [email protected]. Denton County Photo: Regional Director Mason Morgan, with one of our Denton county team members, registered voters on Saturday at Denton Blues Festival. (PC: @MasonMorgan14) The Denton county field team continues to impress with their commitment to the ground game. The team was out in force all around the county at events this week registering voters, including the Denton Blues Festival, where we partnered with the Denton County Republican Party. A big part of being a good grassroots activist is showing up big, everyday. Our Denton team is living up to that in a huge way thanks to the leadership of Mason Morgan, our Regional Director of Denton County.
