Dear Friend,

As New York and this country struggles with a climate crisis alongside the health and economic impacts of Covid-19, it is imperative that we fight for a green pandemic recovery that will bring people back to work in good, green jobs while aggressively tackling our climate emergency. Next week is critical for our call for investments in green infrastructure and job creation at the state and federal level, and we need your support to make a just transition a reality.

RSVP: Kick Off Call - April 5th

RSVP: Climate Justice Town Hall with Senator Schumer - April 9th

At the state level, we are calling for the passage of the Climate and Community Investment Act (CCIA), legislation that will raise significant revenue and create tens of thousands of green jobs, while enabling frontline communities to tackle the climate crisis more aggressively.

At the federal level, we are fighting for the THRIVE Act, a transformational, $10 trillion, 10-year economic recovery and infrastructure package that would put 15 million people to work in good, union, family-sustaining jobs, cuts climate pollution in half by 2030, and advances racial, Indigenous, gender, environmental, and economic justice.

To kick off such an important week, we need to make a resounding splash with a huge kick off call. This will be one of the biggest online climate events of the year. Can you join us on Monday, April 5th at 12pm to kick off the week? You can also find a local event happening during the week of actions here.

We will wrap up our week of actions on Friday, April 9th, with a town hall with Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer, as well as other legislators, to answer questions about the Climate and Community Investment Act, the THRIVE Agenda, and the fight for a just, green recovery. RSVP now, and join us on April 9th from 6:30 - 8pm!

We need a strong grassroots movement behind the CCIA and THRIVE to make our vision for a livable future with good paying jobs a reality. We hope you will join us next week to demand bold, transformative climate and jobs action in New York and throughout the country.

In solidarity,

Maritza Silva-Farrell
