One month ago I visited the border to bring attention to the crisis that this administration’s reckless policies caused. This is what we saw. This is why it’s happening. This is how we fix it.

Border Patrol agents detained nearly 100,000 migrants at the U.S.-Mexico border in February, marking the highest total for the month of February in 15 years. 

The crisis is particularly affecting migrant children. The Washington Examiner reports that the number of migrant children being held in CBP facilities is more than double the record that was set in June 2019 under President Trump. 

I learned from CBP and Texas DPS officers that cartels encourage migrants to bring children with them or send children alone across the border because the Biden Administration will let them enter and remain in the U.S.

This crisis is preventable. I’m calling on the Biden Administration to reinstate Trump era policies that were reversed during Biden's first days in office, such as the Migrant Protection Protocols, Asylum Cooperative Agreements with Northern Triangle countries, and completing construction of the border wall.

Big tech has lost our trust. We had all three big tech CEO’s – from Google, Facebook, and Twitter -  at the Energy and Commerce Committee  last week so we could get answers to key questions the American people have for them. I focused on something that I think we too often ignore: there’s an entire political party that wants big tech to sway political narratives on their behalf. I listened to the Democrats grill Jack Dorsey, Mark Zuckerberg, and Sundar Pichai all day. One thing stood out: Democrats think big tech doesn’t censor conservatives enough. Democrats can’t use government to infringe on free speech so they want to bully big tech into doing it for them.

I explained to the CEOs how they could earn back our trust.
