Since their historic losses in November, Republicans have been spreading conspiracy theories about election fraud rather than admit they've abandoned the needs of their constituents. And now they're actively trying to pass voter suppression laws to rig elections.
But if you ask any Republican representative, they'll smile and say that they're doing their best to protect democracy. The GOP says the 253 bills making their way through statehouses across the country are to help voters and secure our elections, not keep voters away from the polls and help Republicans get elected!
But now, Ted Cruz was caught on tape admitting to what we've known all along: Republicans are willing to drag voting rights in our country back to the Jim Crow era if it will make it harder for Democrats to win.
These bills aren't going to strengthen democracy. They're the GOP's last grasp at power. If we want to protect voting rights, we have to act now.
