To our Washington Supporters —

There has been a horrific surge in violence against the AAPI community here in Washington and around the nation. Since the beginning of the pandemic, inflamed rhetoric has inspired thousands of incidents of anti-AAPI hate, culminating in the abhorrent Atlanta area murders of 8 people, including 6 Asian American women, a few weeks ago.

This is shameful and it requires immediate action. Washington Senate Democrats condemn all violence against our friends and neighbors.

It is beyond time to stand against the racism and injustice that is so deeply rooted in our nation’s history.

Combatting and preventing these violent and racist acts, which have taken lives, is a task that requires every one of us to recognize the issues, educate ourselves, and demand action from our leaders and our community members daily.

Senate Democrats stand together against anti-AAPI violence, and we call on you, your family, friends, and neighbors to do the same. No one should feel unsafe in their country.
