Jack,

Thank you for all your support this month. For fighting for our shared values—from voting rights to gun violence prevention to a $15 minimum wage—and for joining me in supporting progressive champions across the country. I couldn’t do this work without your support.

I wanted to share a few of the articles and one podcast episode that have stuck with me over the past month. If you have some time, I hope you’ll give them a read (or a listen):

This piece by Sally Jenkins on the ways in which the NCAA short-changes its women athletes—and the message that sends to women athletes and the young girls who look up to them.

This article from The Washington Post on how 2020 was the deadliest year for gun violence in decades—and how it disproportionately hurt Black and brown communities. It is absolutely critical that we stop the flow of illegal guns that fuel this violence and pass my bill to make gun trafficking a federal crime.

I’m an avid “The Daily” listener—that’s the New York Times’ daily news podcast. Tuesday’s episode, focused on the GOP’s efforts to restrict voting rights in Georgia, is a must-listen.

And finally, a palette cleanser on the lasting impact of the late, great Beverly Cleary—and how she helped young boys learn to love books.

With love and gratitude,
Kirsten

P.S. Spring is finally here! It was such a treat to be able to get outside for a hike with Henry and Maple:
