Hello there,

Last night the Democratic Party of New Mexico’s State Central Committee selected our nominee to replace Secretary Halaand and serve as the next Congresswoman representing New Mexico’s first congressional district: Melanie Stansbury!

For those of you that don’t know Melanie, she is a conservationist, a problem solver, and a dedicated advocate for New Mexico’s working families. She is a selfless public servant, a fierce protector of our communities, and a champion for change and progress.

Melanie's work in the legislature has focused on important issues like addressing childhood hunger, modernizing New Mexico’s electric grid, fostering resilience in water and food systems, improving education, expanding economic opportunity and public safety, improving access to health care, and using sound science in decision-making. I know Melanie will be a strong advocate for all these issues at the federal level.

As many of you know, I was the first Democrat to win an election in this historically tough district. With the margins in the U.S. House of Representatives so thin, this election is crucial.

That’s why I proudly endorse Melanie Stansbury in her race for U.S. House of Representatives to represent New Mexico’s First Congressional District.

— Martin
