We're adding an extra day to our end-of-quarter fundraising push—something we've never done before.

Why?

Yesterday, President Biden released his American Jobs Plan. His plan goes big on building a clean energy economy, including a 100% Clean Electricity Standard that transforms our electrical grid to run on clean, carbon-free power by 2035, as well as targeting 40% of investments to disadvantaged communities and creating a Civilian Climate Corps. Each of these tenets of Biden's plan has Evergreen's fingerprints all over it (inspired by the Evergreen Action Plan), and there's never been a more opportune time to double down.

The time for action is now, so we're extending our end-of-quarter fundraising deadline for 24 hours. To put fossil fuel corporations in their place and push Congress to pass this plan, we've set a goal of bringing in 100 more grassroots donors by midnight.

We're thrilled with major elements of Biden's plan—after all, its components are very similar to the one we've been advocating for for over a year now. But now, the ball is in Congress' court. Speaker Pelosi and Leader Schumer must now take swift action to deliver on our climate mandate, and we can't let Republican obstruction (funded by fossil fuel corporations) stand in the way of taking the bold action that the science and the economy demand. And if anything, we must go bigger and bolder than what Biden proposed, not have it watered-down by Congress.

Now that the White House has taken up our policy proposals, we will be fighting like hell to pressure Congress into doing the same.
