Democratic Governors are one of the best lines of defense we have for voting rights:
“2022 Governors Races Could Be Armageddon for Voting Rights. The future of voting rights, and in turn of the partisan balance, in many states will be on the ballot in 2022.” — New York Magazine |
Georgia has been called the “ground zero” of GOP voter suppression efforts and Georgia-native Stacey Abrams has devoted her career to combating them.
In states like North Carolina and Wisconsin, the one thing standing between Republicans and stripping hundreds of thousands of their ability to access the polls is a Democratic Governor. It was a result of Stacey, and the coalition of organizers she helped organize and work alongside, that Georgia and the Senate went blue. Stacey would’ve won her first run for Governor in 2018 if Republicans didn’t successfully purge 1.4 million voters from the rolls. The Republicans won by a margin of just over 50,000 as a result. From the forefront of the fight to defend our right to vote to the frontlines of our democracy as a Gubernatorial hopeful: Should Stacey Abrams run for Governor? Let us know.
