Today is April Fools’ Day but I’m reaching out with a completely serious issue. 

A lot is at stake right now for our nation’s children, like ZyQuan. While ZyQaun’s parents are his first and best teachers, early learning programs will set him up for success in school and life. 

But these programs are woefully underfunded. Head Start reaches just 36% of eligible children. And our nation’s child care assistance program reaches less than 20% of eligible kids.

Right now, congressional champions of early learning programs are asking their colleagues to sign a letter to show their support for robust funding for these programs. If we help secure a lot of congressional signatures on this letter, we will help build more support for funding for Head Start and child care.

Kids who participate in high-quality early learning programs are more likely to graduate from high school and be employed.
