CFPB rescinds policies related to COVID relief [ [link removed] ]
The CFPB Wednesday rescinded several of its policy statements – and withdrew itself from some interagency statements – that provided reporting relief and temporary flexibilities amid the coronavirus pandemic. The statements impact Home Mortgage Disclosure Act (HMDA) reporting, loan modifications, electronic credit card disclosures, and more.


NAFCU, CFPB discuss consumer access to financial records [ [link removed] ]
Members of NAFCU staff Wednesday met with the CFPB to discuss several topics related to implementation of section 1033 of the Dodd-Frank Act. NAFCU previously detailed concerns about implementation in response to the CFPB's advance notice of proposed rulemaking on this topic.


NAFCU to tout CU efforts during Financial Literacy Month [ [link removed] ]
April is Financial Literacy Month and NAFCU is putting a spotlight on credit unions that offer financial education programs in their communities. Throughout the month, the association will highlight how member credit unions help their members – and their children – make smart financial decisions.

The NCUA in March issued one prohibition notice, prohibiting an individual previously associated with credit unions from any future participation in the affairs of a federally-insured financial institution.
