The rise in racism, hate crimes and violence against Asians, Asian Americans and Pacific Islanders (AAPI) has once again highlighted the urgent need for conversations and activism around racial aggression and inequality. Families should take an active role in not only being against racism, but being anti-racist and educating themselves about ways they can intervene and make meaningful, real-time changes when they experience or witness racism. Spring break is almost here, but unfortunately just like last year, travel is not a great idea. While we can see a light at the end of the pandemic tunnel, staying put — or at least close to home — is your safest bet, but that doesn’t mean your time off can’t be special. What is hypermobility?

Hypermobility, or being “double jointed,” refers to joints that move beyond the normal range of motion. It is very common in children. Most of the time, it is a physical characteristic that has no long-lasting harmful consequences. Many children who have hypermobility are in gymnastics, ballet or other forms of athletics where hypermobility confers an advantage.
