*Nottingham City Council Adult Social Care is looking for qualified Occupational Therapists to work in the Whole Life Disability Service with disabled children and young people, and adults who acquired their disability in childhood.*

*The starting salary is ?29,577 (Level One) rising to ?31,346 (Level Two) on the first year anniversary, subject to satisfactory completion of a probation period (pro rata for part time workers).

*This is for Occupational Therapists with proven post-qualifying experience, but we also welcome applications from newly qualified Occupational Therapists with a passion for paediatric work, offering a starting salary of ?25,991 and career progression opportunities.

*More experienced Occupational Therapists could earn up to ?33,782 depending on their knowledge and skill level.

*Team Information

*

The Whole Life Disability Occupational Therapy team supports disabled children and young people from childhood through to adulthood, with a focus on increasing function and independence through the provision of equipment and adaptations. Occupational Therapists are responsible for the accurate, holistic and person centred assessment of disabled children, young people and adults; establishing what is important to them and agreeing outcomes based on a personalised, sensitive and proportionate approach.? This also requires creating and implementing culturally appropriate care plans that demonstrate flexibility and innovative use of resources.

Work is undertaken within the current legislative framework at all times, and in partnership with internal and external partners/agencies. There is also an expectation that Occupational Therapists at all levels will maintain and produce professional case records and reports which are structured, clear, evidence based and logical, in accordance with the Department?s case recording standards and practice. In addition, they should make best use of the Department?s electronic information systems, inputting new information as required in a timely and accurate manner.

The team includes Occupational Therapists working across three levels depending on their experience, and case complexity is reflected in this.?Occupational Therapists at all levels will be expected to carry a full caseload of multifaceted cases, with contribution towards child review meetings and safeguarding meetings required.

Additional training on moving and handling and postural management assessment is provided if necessary, and there is also the possibility of Sensory Practitioner training for permanent colleagues.

Successful candidates will be offered posts depending on current skill level, knowledge and experience.?

*ESSENTIAL REQUIREMENTS:?*


* Diploma / Degree in Occupational Therapy and registration with the Health & Care Professions Council (HCPC);
* Understanding of equipment and adaptations in relation to promoting independence;
* Commitment to the Social Model of Disability;
* Understanding of relevant legislation, including safeguarding issues.

? ? ?? The right individual will join a team that provides administrative support to six specialist SEN Support Teams, with a particular responsibility for the Behaviour Support Team, who put inclusion and access at the heart of all they do. ? ? ?

You will work flexibly and creatively, across all six teams to perform general clerical tasks relating to the work of all the teams, including: answering the phone, office cover, management of mail and team email boxes, photocopying, maintaining electronic filing systems, managing data, care of office equipment and dealing with the delivery of goods.?
