New Proposed Rule On HRAs And The Employer Mandate

The proposed rule would establish a number of safe harbors related to a recent final rule to expand the use of health reimbursement arrangements (HRAs) by employers. Under the final rule, employers can offer an HRA to fund premiums and out-of-pocket costs for their employees in the individual health insurance market and Medicare beginning on or after January 1, 2020. HHS Proposes New Wellness Demonstration Projects

On September 30, 2019, the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) released a bulletin outlining a new opportunity for 10 states to participate in a wellness demonstration project in the individual market.
