John,

Today is Trans Day of Visibility. Today and everyday we must strive to learn, understand, embrace, and celebrate the lives and histories of people who identify as trans. People are people, and trans rights are human rights.

I know tonight is a major fundraising deadline — and to be transparent, we are just a few hundred dollars from meeting our goal. However, I have an important ask of you tonight. 

If you consider yourself an ally to the transgender community, put your money where your mouth is tonight (if you are able) and make a donation to Eastern PA Trans Equity Project (EPTEP).

EPTEP serves Allentown and several other counties in eastern Pennsylvania by assisting trans people with their legal name changes, offering food and housing assistance, awarding scholarships for trans students, and more. 

John, when I call for equity, I mean for all people — including our trans siblings. I have and always will use my platform as a leader to be a megaphone for marginalized people. 

And if you want to throw my campaign a few dollars after donating to EPTEP, you can be one of the donors that pushes us past the finish line for March.
