[1]Women's March
Hey John, I’m
Kelsey Jackson — I lead our finance team at Women’s March.
I was going through our latest fundraising numbers and I wanted to give
you a quick update before our midnight deadline. Right now we're 5% short
from reaching our $125,000 Women’s History Month goal.
Closing this gap is critical to make sure our team has the resources we
need to remove seditionists like Ted Cruz from Congress, fight against
disinformation online, and provide free organizing trainings for Women’s
Marchers. If you think your donation won’t make much of a difference in
helping us reach our goal, please believe me when I say it absolutely can.
Our average donation this month is $15.60. Grassroots donations from
thousands of folks is how we’ve always been able to fuel this movement.
It’s how we defeated Trump and it’s how we’re going to continue pushing
for transformative change in our country.

Women’s History Month fundraising goal? Every donation counts as we race
the next 5 hours to reach our goal by midnight tonight.

$15.60 might not seem like a lot of money, but please believe me when I
say that there’s so much power in this number.
It’s powerful evidence of the women-led movement we’re building. We’re
creating a movement that represents the many and not the few. Together, we
are building the grassroots power we need to continue removing failed
leaders from office and make progress toward the feminist future we
deserve.
Here are just a couple of examples of the work we’ve been able to lead
thanks to donations from our supporters:
* We’ve collected nearly 20,000 signatures on our petition calling on
companies that do work in Georgia to stand against the Jim Crow-esque
bill Republicans passed to further voter suppression in Georgia.
Delta, Home Depot, and Coca-Cola have already made responses to our
grassroots call and they know we’re watching.
* As part of our Take Action Tuesday we have written hundreds of letters
to local publications across the country around our COVID priorities.
* We’ve now trained over 1,600 Women’s Marchers through our Digital
Defenders program to combat disinformation online to help set the
record straight on women's priorities.
* Women2Women Circles are local organizing collectives happening in
communities all across the country. Today, over 600 Women's Marchers
have signed up to host a circle.
* We recently hosted our first Feminist Fundamentals Short Course! In
this free training, we trained over 200 active Women’s March
volunteers how to use their organizing power to create change locally.
* We partnered with 50+ partner organizations to turn Congress' Recess
into Recovery Recess highlighting the solutions needed around jobs,
care, and democracy.
* And just this month, we announced the names of eight Republicans we’re
targeting in upcoming elections with our organizing power. This
movement is the reason why we defeated Trump and we know that together
we can make sure his most loyal allies in Congress are removed from
office too.
Doing this kind of work is critical if we want to continue turning the
tides of our country. But here’s the harsh reality we face: According to a
report by the Women's Philanthropy Institute, only about 1.6% of total
charitable giving in the U.S. goes towards nonprofits like ours focused on
harnessing the power of women.
That’s why this Women’s History Month we set an ambitious goal to make
sure we have funding for the plans we have ahead and keep scoring big
grassroots wins by and for women.
[ [link removed] ]Whether you give a couple bucks, $15, or even $100 — your donation has
the power to create a direct impact on what happens next for our country.
If you’re able, can you make a donation of whatever you can afford before
our midnight deadline tonight?
Keep fighting,
Kelsey
