Friend,
Today’s FEC deadline is a tone-setter for the next election — Republicans are watching this filing to decide which swing districts they think they can flip.
Reps. Houlahan, Luria, Sherrill, Slotkin, and Spanberger are bound to have some of the toughest races in the country. I know they can win and help Democrats hold a majority in Congress, but we can’t let them fall behind early on.
Split a donation among these five badass women leaders before the midnight deadline. [[link removed]]
Thank you,

Subject: Five badass women
Friend,
Let me introduce you to five badass women who are changing Congress, breaking the glass ceiling and holding seats in swing districts.
I am proud to call Congresswomen Chrissy Houlahan (PA-06), Elaine Luria (VA-02), Elissa Slotkin (MI-08), Mikie Sherrill (NJ-11) and Abigail Spanberger (VA-07) friends and allies. Not only do they serve their country in the U.S. House of Representatives, but they have all served as veterans of the Air Force, Navy or CIA. These are elected officials who have always put country over party.
But the truth is all five of these women have tough elections ahead of them, and holding the majority in Congress is going to come down to races like theirs. Spanberger was the first Democrat to represent her district in over 50 years, Houlahan ended 163 years of Republican rule, Luria ousted a Republican incumbent, Sherrill was the first Democrat elected in her district in over 30 years, and Slotkin is the only Democrat in the House to represent a district that voted for Romney in 2012, and Trump in 2016 and 2020.
I know you’re probably getting a lot of emails like this right now — the FEC quarterly deadline on Wednesday is the first critical moment of this election cycle. (Yeah, I know… how is it already the next election?!) There’s no better place to make a donation you know will be put to good use — chip in before the deadline to split a donation among these incredible women leaders. [[link removed]]
I want to tell you a little bit more about these amazing women.
AirForce veteran, engineer, entrepreneur and educator, Chrissy Houlahan is a proven leader driven by a spirit of service to her community, commonwealth, and country. Chrissy was one of the most productive freshmen in the last Congress, shepherding nine of her legislative initiatives into law. Because of her efforts, small businesses had an easier time getting their PPP loans forgiven, veterans experiencing a mental health crisis had more options for treatment, federal workers now receive 12 weeks of paid parental leave, and so much more.
Elaine Luria is the longest serving active duty member of the House Democratic Caucus. As a Surface Warfare Officer and nuclear engineer, she commanded hundreds of sailors and deployed six times to conduct operations in the Middle East and Western Pacific. Elaine serves on the House Armed Services Committee as the Vice Chair of the whole committee, on the House Veterans Affairs Committee where she is the Chair of the Disability and Memorial Assistance Subcommittee, and also on the House Committee for Homeland Security. She is a strong advocate for active duty service members, veterans and their families, utilizing her experience to ensure our troops have the resources they need, and veterans receive the benefits they’ve earned.
Former Navy helicopter pilot, federal prosecutor, and mom of four, Mikie Sherrill , has been a strong voice for New Jersey's families and strives to work across the aisle to pass bipartisan legislation to move America forward. She currently sits on the House Armed Services Committee, the House Science, Space, and Technology Committee, where she chairs the Subcommittee on the Environment, and the House Education and Labor Committee.
Before serving in the House, Elissa Slotkin served as the acting Assistant Secretary of Defense for International Security Affairs at the Pentagon, where she negotiated some of the Pentagon’s most sensitive national security matters including on Russia and the Middle East. In her 14 years of national service, Elissa has proudly worked for both Republicans and Democrats — including directly for President Bush and President Obama. She now serves on the Armed Services, Veterans Affairs and Homeland Security committees and as the Chair of the Subcommittee on Intelligence and Counterterrorism.
Abigail Spanberger began her career of public service as a federal law enforcement officer working narcotics and money laundering cases with the U.S. Postal Inspection Service. She then joined the CIA as a case officer. She traveled and lived abroad collecting intelligence and overseeing high-profile programs in service to the United States. Abigail serves on the House Foreign Affairs Committee and House Agriculture Committee and is focused on strengthening our country’s national security and fighting for Central Virginia families by lowering prescription drug prices, protecting access to health care, and expanding broadband internet access.
As we’ve been reminded all too frequently, not every member of Congress has such a strong sense of what their oath to defend our Constitution means. These five friends of mine are exactly the type of leaders we need in the halls of power to ensure that the people who would undermine our democracy never prevail.
The other big thing all of these women have in common is that they’re among the top targets for Republicans in the next election. We all know what kinds of nasty, undemocratic schemes the other side can concoct to get their way at the ballot box. These women need our help.
Before Wednesday’s critical FEC deadline, split a donation for these patriots, Reps. Houlahan, Luria, Sherrill, Slotkin, and Spanberger — and let’s fight for these women the way they’re fighting for us in Congress. [[link removed]]
