John,
Today marks one month since Hurricane Dorian made landfall in the Bahamas and devastated the islands of Abaco and Grand Bahama. There are still 600 people missing, and thousands more are unable to go back home because they don't have one.

Please sign this petition asking Congress and the Trump administration to help bring people in the Bahamas to safety. [[link removed]]

Many residents of the Bahamas have been trying to come to the United States to stay with relatives and friends who can help them during this difficult time. Unfortunately, Trump has closed the doors on our brothers and sisters in need, leaving children, women and the elderly stranded without a home and at risk.

We know that people in the Bahamas don't have a home right now, and that they won't have one for a very long time. Our state and our culture owes so much to the Bahamas, and it's only right to lend them a hand during this time of need.

That's why we are calling on the Trump administration and Congress to issue expedited visas, waivers, TPS, and/or whatever other measures are necessary to ensure the safety of all the people living in the Bahamas as they and their country face the enormous challenges of recovering from Dorian. You are one click away from signing this petition in support of the people in the Bahamas. [[link removed]]

We will deliver your signatures together with our friends from the Florida Immigrant Coalition, FANM and Make The Homeless Smile.

Please help us spread the word.

In solidarity,
