Governor Parson and Senator Blunt to Visit Rocheport, Hold Press Conference on Upcoming Replacement of I-70 Missouri River Bridge

(JEFFERSON CITY, MO) ??Wednesday, October 2, 2019, Governor Mike Parson will join Senator Roy Blunt, Missouri Department of Transportation leaders, members of the Missouri Highways and Transportation Commission, and other local officials at a press conference in Rocheport regarding the upcoming replacement of the I-70 Missouri River Bridge.?

In July, the U.S. Department of Transportation awarded Missouri an $81.2 million INFRA Grant that will enable MoDOT to replace the bridge. Receipt of the grant also triggered $301 million in state bonding, authorized by the Missouri General Assembly during the 2019 session, to repair or replace another 215 bridges across the state.

Since these bridges were already prioritized in the Statewide Transportation Improvement Program, the money that had been programmed for those projects may now be used for additional transportation projects across the state.
