The last few months have tested our leaders across the country — especially here in Texas. Every week, we see our statewide Republican elected officials fail the test.

But while they embarrass and harm our state, My brother and my Congressman, Joaquin Castro, has stepped up to put people first every time.

He’s up against a critical midnight finance deadline. It’d mean a lot to me if this team could have his back in pitching in. Please consider making a small contribution to Joaquin’s campaign before tonight’s FEC fundraising deadline. [[link removed]]

When domestic terrorists followed Donald Trump’s orders and attacked our capitol on January 6th, Texas’s statewide leaders like Ted Cruz and Ken Paxton cheered him on. They spread his lies and encouraged the mob that attacked our Capitol.

What did Joaquin do? He became one of the House Impeachment Managers making one heck of a case for why Donald Trump needed to be immediately removed from office.

In the middle of February, a massive winter storm rocked Texas, leaving millions without power. Ted Cruz abandoned us to flee to Cancún. Greg Abbott blamed windmills. But Joaquin was right here in San Antonio, volunteering at local food banks and assisting constituents with getting their power back.

And now that failed Texas Republicans are in trouble, they are doing the only thing they know how to do: distracting Americans with lies about our border and asylum seekers.

But while they are using immigrants as a political piñata, Joaquin is working with the Biden administration to expand our capacity to safely and humanely process the children coming to our border out of desperation and despair.

That’s what leadership looks like, and that’s why I’m personally asking you to support my brother Joaquin with a contribution before the FEC deadline at midnight. [[link removed]]

Texas deserves so much better than the leadership we have. But I’m pretty damn proud of my Congressman.

Thank you for supporting Joaquin,

Julián
