Friend,

This movement is larger than any one person. It’s also larger than any one generation. That’s because the choices we make today - the policies we enact, the rhetoric we use, and the priorities we decide on - are shaping the future, for better or worse.

My daughter, Ava, can’t vote. But like any parent, I want to do everything I can to leave her and her generation a better world than we have now. Ava shouldn't have to worry about whether she'll have a livable environment when she's an adult. She shouldn't have to struggle through an economy that is rigged against regular people like her. She shouldn't have to be afraid for her safety during a chance encounter with law enforcement because of the color of her skin.

That’s why it’s so important that we elect leadership that understands our need to think long term. Leadership that knows the policies we pursue will have impact beyond today. That’s why I’m in this race: to make a better Virginia for Ava to live in.
