Not only is it an opportunity to celebrate incredibly talented athletes from across the country, but it also takes me back to my days playing basketball – whether it was in the backyard with my siblings, with our local community association, or with my high school, college or professional teams.

Just like any good team, our office was ready to go from the first whistle of 2021 and didn’t miss a beat. Each step of the way, we acted with the level of urgency that this moment demands. Here’s a snapshot of what we’ve accomplished in the first three months of the year:

🏀 Held McKinsey accountable for its role in the opioid epidemic with a $573 million settlement that will deliver critical funding for equitable treatment, prevention, and recovery efforts in MA.

🏀 Called on President Biden to cancel federal student debt for every federal loan borrower in the country.

🏀 Secured a major victory in our fight to protect Uber and Lyft drivers from unfair and exploitative practices.

🏀 Released a robust legislative agenda focused on protecting vulnerable communities and promoting equity and social justice.

🏀 Visited vaccination sites and food pantries across Massachusetts to learn more about the need in our communities and how we can respond most effectively.
