Yeah John, you read that right:
over 250 laws in 43 states dedicated to suppressing our votes.
And that's just the number from the end of February. Can you imagine what it'll look like at the end of this month?
If one thing's for sure, it's that we've got a lot of work to do. Black people showed up in record numbers for the 2020 election -- not only did Black folks ensure that the white-supremacist-in-chief was a one-term president, but we're also the reason that Mitch McConnell was stripped of his Senate majority leader title and the reason that Georgia flipped blue for the first time in nearly 30 years.
It's absolutely no coincidence that Republican lawmakers in various states are trying to prevent this from happening again -- and by “this,” we mean Black people voting. They want nothing more than to silence us, but we can't -- and won't -- fall victim to their blatant voter suppression attempts.
John, we need the resources to fight against these shameless voter suppression attempts by electing leaders who will fight for our vote on the campaign trail and in office. We've got to start the work NOW if we're going to overcome these new hurdles. Chip in whatever you can to ensure that Black voices aren't silenced >>

If democracy is going to work for all of us, it must
include all of us.
Instead of focusing on what's important -- getting us out of the pandemic, ensuring Black Lives Matter, ending police violence -- Republicans are focused on making it harder for Black folks to vote.
And they're doing it
everywhere. They've introduced well over 4x the number of bills to restrict voting access as compared to roughly this time last year.
If Black people didn't show up to vote in record numbers in the 2020 election, do you think they'd be doing this? (Probably not.)
This is yet
another way to advance their white supremacist agenda.
We won't let them get away with this. Please chip in to fuel our efforts to hold white supremacist politicians who'd suppress our voices accountable >>
In love and solidarity,
