Hi John,

Speaking out against Democratic voting rights legislation, Mitch McConnell shamelessly claimed that Democrats' efforts were unnecessary because “states are not engaging in trying to suppress voters, whatsoever.”

And yet, just this year, Republicans in almost every state legislature have proposed more than 250 bills to make it harder for people to vote.

McConnell and the GOP think we aren't paying enough attention -- but we are.

Democrats have introduced the For the People Act and the Lewis Voting Rights Act to combat the GOP's rampant voter suppression tactics in battleground states like Georgia. All our Democratic leaders, from Joe Biden to Stacey Abrams, are calling on Congress to immediately pass both.

But there are a few things standing in the way, John: Mitch McConnell, Senate Republicans, and their trusty Jim Crow relic -- the Senate filibuster.

A majority of voter suppression laws in states like Georgia will go into effect today. We have to act to undo these hateful laws before it's too late -- that means passing the For the People Act, which can only happen if we get rid of the filibuster. But McConnell's empty threats have convinced some that the American people value “precedent” over progressive change.

We're polling 65 of our most engaged supporters -- please, help us make it clear that Americans demand action:

John, should Democrats abolish the Senate filibuster to protect voting rights?

YES   NO

Thank you for taking today's live poll and informing our fight to eliminate the Senate filibuster once and for all.
