John,

As Women’s History Month comes to a close today, we are taking the moment to celebrate the strides toward equality that women have taken to create a better world.

Generations of women have fought for equality, and even though we have a long way to go, the progress we’ve made is impressive.

In 2012, I was elected the first woman Attorney General in Oregon history. Now, less than 10 years later, women hold four of Oregon’s five statewide offices — including my office, Governor, Secretary of State, and Labor Commissioner.

Every day, issues that affect women and families are discussed and negotiated in the halls of power (and even on Zoom!). Having women at the table ensures more perspectives are considered and more communities are served. To accomplish this, we first need to empower women to run for office, then give them the support they need to be successful, and finally, give it our all to get them across the finish line on Election Day.

That’s exactly why the Democratic Attorneys General Association ( DAGA) is working hard to help more women run and win in key AG races across the country.

The work AGs do impacts women across our nation. Dem AGs are:

Pushing back against gender-based discrimination and harassment;

Working to dismantle racist systems that disproportionately harm BIPOC women;

Fighting for equal pay and equal protection under the law;

Protecting women’s access to health care, including abortion access;

Defending the rights of LGBTQIA+ women;

...and so much more.

I am so proud that Democratic AGs are one of the most diverse groups of elected officials in the country! But we still need more women AGs —especially, women of color — to help build on the progress we’ve made and continue our fight for equity and justice for all.

Help us DEFEND Democratic women in battleground states, and FLIP Republican-held seats with strong, Democratic women AGs by making a $25 donation to DAGA PAC now. Your contribution will help them recruit, support, and elect Democratic women!
