** NEW & UPDATED Resources
------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Allies,

The PIF coalition has updated our materials and messaging to reflect the March 9 news about public charge and the return to the 1999 field guidance. This week, we are happy to share newly translated community education resources, an FAQ and a simple overview of public charge, and a reminder of our vaccine advocacy webinar taking place this afternoon.

** TODAY: Vaccine Advocacy Webinar
------------------------------------------------------------

What can state governments and local municipalities do to increase vaccination rates among immigrant residents? What are best practices in outreach and education around the COVID-19 vaccine for the immigrant community? How can you advocate for more welcoming vaccination practices and reach more members of your community? We’ll be answering all of these questions and more in our upcoming webinar, Improving Immigrant Access to COVID Vaccines: Public Policy and Outreach Strategies TODAY at 2-3pm ET/11-12pm PT.

Join PIF and advocacy and direct service partners from across the country to learn successful strategies to improve access to, and acceptance of COVID vaccines in the immigrant community.

** NEW Resource: The ABCs of Public Charge
------------------------------------------------------------

This new resource ([link removed]) , aimed at advocates and service providers, presents a simple overview of public charge as it is currently enforced, based on the 1999 field guidance. We encourage partners to disseminate this document with partners and through your networks to share an updated understanding of what public charge is and is not.

** Updated & Translated Community Education Resources
------------------------------------------------------------

The PIF team has updated our community education resources to reflect the 1999 guidance. These resources are critical to making sure that immigrants and their families are equipped with the most up-to-date and helpful information to help them make the best decisions for themselves. These resources have also been translated into Spanish, Arabic, Chinese, Korean, Haitian Creole, and Vietnamese.
* KNOW YOUR RIGHTS! Top 5 Facts About Public Charge ([link removed])
* What Should I Know When Enrolling My Children in Public Benefits? ([link removed])
* Public Charge: Does This Apply to Me? ([link removed])
* Immigrants Rights to Health Care: Treatment and Coverage ([link removed])

These resources and their translations can be found on our Know Your Rights ([link removed]) page on our website.

** FAQs on Public Charge Policy
------------------------------------------------------------

PIF has a NEW resource capturing answers to frequently asked questions ([link removed]) from advocates and providers about public charge policy changes from the 2019 regulations to the longstanding policy in effect before the Trump-era regulations. If you have a question that is not answered in the FAQ document, please use this form ([link removed]) to submit a question. Please note that we are only accepting questions from advocates and service providers and we cannot answer questions about individual situations or cases.

In Solidarity,

Eddie Carmona & Renato Rocha, on behalf of the PIF Team
