PEAK2021 Online is a month away: Make your plans today!

Across eight days in May, step back from your day-to-day to reconnect with PEAK colleagues and strengthen our community.

Together, we’ll examine and expand upon a pivotal and visionary year, and PEAK’s 25th in existence. Across keynotes and breakouts, we’ll look at how far the profession of grants management has come – its growing influence and responsibility, critical work in this moment to meet the challenges of our day, and evolving role as a change leader in philanthropy.

There’ll also be plenty of opportunities to connect with peers through chapter meetings, affinity groups, and communities of practice; plus wellness and music breaks, social hours, and more.

Who's on the Mainstage (and there's more to come...)

OPENING KEYNOTE

LaTosha Brown:
Engaging and Investing in Community

Get ready for a powerful kickoff: Philanthropic trailblazer and Black Voters Matter co-founder LaTosha Brown takes the mainstage where she will inspire you to claim and use your power and influence to build a movement for equitable practice within the organization you serve.

KEYNOTE

Pamela Newkirk:
Beyond Diversity

We'll hear from scholar, journalist, and Diversity, Inc. author Pamela Newkirk to explore how the principles of people and culture management build into creating workplace equity that will, in turn, diversify philanthropic leadership.

KEYNOTE PANEL

The Changing Face of Philanthropy

To close on a high note, PEAK's Satonya Fair will bring together a panel of foundation CEOs who are women of color to share stories about their career journeys, how they are utilizing their power as funders to best fulfill their organizations’ missions, and the ways in which they are reimagining how they are in relationship with their grantees and communities.

Focus on community and equity

During the conference, we'll follow four learning tracks: listening to communities, supporting adaptable communities, learning with our communities, and creating equitable communities. Each of these tracks will empower you to examine the field through an equity lens in addition to telling the story of how grantmakers are....
  • engaging with and investing in community,
  • building trusting relationships,
  • moving beyond diversity, and
  • together, creating the future of philanthropy.
Sessions continue to be added, so check back often!

Big appreciation to our fabulous PEAK2021 committee

We couldn't do it without the leadership of our trio of co-chairs: Candy Champion, Director of Grants at the Turner Foundation; Sue Fulton, Chief Financial Officer at the Endowment for Health New Hampshire; and Shonda Barnett, Senior Manager of Grants at the Texas Women’s Foundation – along with the 11 committee members whose time, hard work, and ideas shaped our second, all-virtual conference.

MEET THE COMMITTEE

Make time and space for wellness

Along with the learning and connecting, we've built in opportunities for self-care. Tap into a series of guided Morning Wellness sessions and on-demand wellness activities that will be available throughout the conference. Learn a few new moves, get your heart pumping, or practice mindfulness exercises and enrich your body as well as your mind. Program to be announced.

Scholarship Opportunity

We recognize that not everyone can afford to attend professional development opportunities. Scholarships covering registration fees are a way that we try to eliminate that barrier for those who would like to attend.

Our thanks to Ascendium Education Group and the Virginia G. Piper Charitable Trust for making these scholarships possible.
